This is by far my favorite tarot as a collector and an incredible tool for divination... A very special tarot...but it's becoming very hard to find.

The origins of the Tarot, like those of Freemasonry, are found (or lost) in the field of myths at the dawn of our civilization; their evolution is in any case part of what is called “Tradition”.

It was a Freemason, Court de Gébélin, who rediscovered and made known the deep meaning of the mysteries of the Tarot. He presents it in the ninth volume of his “Primitive World”. Other brothers after him leaned on the Tarot like Oswald Wirth, with the Tarot of the Image-makers of the Middle Ages. The modes of expression of the Tarot and those of Freemasonry are based on the use of the symbol. Symbolic language has the advantage of not imposing a meaning of reading but of leaving room for appreciation. Tarot and Freemasonry convey the same traditional thought and also participate in the evolution of the spirit of humanity of which they are among the driving forces.

The Tarot de Marseille is a set of cards with ancient and naive motifs belonging to the category of divinatory tarots. This game uses many symbols from the Tarot de Marseille, and as well as the structure with 22 major arcana and 4 x 14 minor arcana, i.e. 78 cards. This game incorporates the symbols of the “Traditional” Tarot and those of Freemasonry, which makes it a Tarot in its own right.

As you will have understood, the Tarot and the Masonic Tarot are one and the same universe to explore at the same time as this research that we do on ourselves.
