Step into the charm of late-19th-century learning with Lustiges Ein-Mal-Eins, a beautifully illustrated German educational game designed to teach multiplication through playful storytelling. Produced around 1890–1900, this set combines delightful chromolithographed scenes with numbered discs, each representing multiplication results hidden within fairy-tale style images.
Players draw and match the round tokens to the corresponding results depicted on the boards – a lively, humorous way to reinforce arithmetic. With its colourful illustrations, ornate borders, and richly detailed scenes, this game is a superb example of turn-of-the-century pedagogical design.
A rare survivor, complete with natural age patina, original box, instructional sheet, and multiple illustrated boards.

Issued in 1989 to commemorate the Bicentennial of the French Revolution (1789–1989), this special playing card deck was produced in France by Héron as a single commemorative edition.
While retaining the structure of a traditional French-suited deck, the court cards are entirely reimagined with double-ended, full-color portraits of key figures of the French Revolution, including Louis XVI, Marie-Antoinette, Robespierre, Danton, Madame Roland, and Barbaroux.
The Ace of Clubs prominently features the emblem “La Loi” (The Law), reinforcing the historical and symbolic intent of the deck.
Both historically evocative and visually striking, this deck stands at the crossroads of playing cards, political memory, and graphic heritage, making it a compelling collectible for historians and card enthusiasts alike.

Originally published in Tübingen, Germany, in 1805 by publisher J.G. Cotta, this remarkable deck transforms the suit symbols into intricate narrative scenes. The designs are attributed to Countess von Jenison-Walworth, making this one of the earliest known transformation decks created by a female artist.
This 2013 reproduction by Éditions Atlas faithfully recreates the rare original preserved in the prestigious Kharbine-Tapabor Collection in Paris. The deck is particularly notable for its elegant neoclassical style and its inclusion of Joan of Arc, alongside historical, allegorical, and domestic scenes characteristic of early nineteenth-century European card art.
🔹 Reproduction published by Éditions Atlas in 2013
🔹 Based on the rare 1805 Tübingen edition
🔹 Artwork attributed to Countess von Jenison-Walworth
🔹 Standard 52-card deck(complete)
🔹 Card size: approximately 10.5 × 7 cm
🔹 French publication
Condition
🔹 Cards are in excellent condition
🔹 Box present with light wear and minor corner wear from storage
🔹 Clean, bright cards with sharp printing
🪶 Collector's Note
Long before modern artistic playing cards became fashionable, the creators of transformation decks were turning ordinary card symbols into miniature works of art. Instead of simply placing pips on a card, artists cleverly integrated them into scenes of daily life, mythology, literature, and history.
The 1805 Cotta deck is considered one of the masterpieces of the genre and occupies a special place in playing-card history. Surviving originals are exceptionally scarce, with examples known from major collections such as the Kharbine-Tapabor Collection in Paris and the Fournier Museum in Spain.
The elegant engraving style, subtle hand-colored appearance, and historical figures such as Joan of Arc make this deck especially desirable for collectors of antique playing cards, transformation decks, and early nineteenth-century graphic art.
A beautiful reproduction of a deck that most collectors will never encounter in its original form.
This is a very rare Mlle Lenormand tarot reproduction from1845 and very hard to find from 1991 by Dusserre Editions.

🪶 Collector’s Note
This card originates from the original 1924 Grimaud edition of Georges Muchery’s astrological divination system — one of the earliest structured attempts to merge astrology and cartomancy in early 20th-century France.
Each planet was represented through a powerful symbolic scene; Mars, the planet of action and conflict, is depicted here as a martial archetype expressing drive, assertiveness, and struggle.
Printed on thick textured stock with Grimaud’s distinctive patterned back, original Muchery cards are now extremely scarce, especially as surviving single cards from dismantled or incomplete sets.
€69.90 EUR
A fascinating and uncommon piece of French esoteric history, this card appears to originate from an early 20th-century occult publication inspired by the teachings of Papus (Dr. Gérard Encausse) and the broader Martinist tradition.
The card represents Le Diable (The Devil) and presents a rich network of symbolic correspondences drawn from the French esoteric tradition.
🔹 Arcana No. 15 – Le Diable
🔹 References to Saint-Yves d'Alveydre
🔹 Original mounted vintage card
🔹 Approximate card size: 12 × 7.7 cm (4.72 × 3.03 inches)
🔹 Presented inside a rigid magnetic photo holder/frame
🔹 Magnetic display holder size: 9 × 13 cm (3.54 × 5.12 inches)
🔹 Ready for display
🔹 Visible wear and patina consistent with age and use of the card
🪶 Collector's Note
During the first decades of the twentieth century, numerous French occult reviews and correspondence courses distributed tarot and initiatory teachings through detachable supplements. Students often mounted the cards themselves, creating personalized working sets that combined tarot symbolism, astrology, Kabbalah, and the teachings of influential occultists such as Papus and Saint-Yves d'Alveydre.
Rather than being part of a commercially manufactured tarot deck, the card was likely issued as a collectible magazine insert or educational supplement. Readers would cut out the cards and mount them onto cardboard to gradually assemble a complete set for study and divination—a practice common in French occult circles during the interwar period.
Surviving examples are increasingly difficult to find today, particularly as individual pieces. Beyond its value as a tarot-related artifact, this card is a genuine fragment of the French occult revival that shaped much of modern Western esotericism.
A wonderful addition to any collection of tarot history, Martinism, occult literature, French esotericism, or rare paper ephemera.

Oracle cards made by Modiano from 1950, called “Doctor Marius Divining Cards: Suits of Love.”
The cards are accompanied by a 71-page booklet, entirely in English, describing the deck and how it can be used to tell fortunes.
There are a total of 56 numbered cards, 52 of which are “Lenormand” type in the sense that they have playing card inserts. The playing cards inserted have French suits and English pattern court cards. It is obvious that Modiano intended to market these cards in Great Britain and/or the United States.
The deck has the 56 cards noted above. In addition to the 52 cards with inserts, there are 4 “Consultant” cards. The cards are large, measuring 109mm x 70mm, and, with the accompanying booklet, come in the original box.
The cards and booklet are in excellent condition, “as new” or very nearly so. The box is in no better than good condition as pictured.

The artwork was created in 1959 but the tarot was not published till 1966.
It must be one of the earliest attempt to create a tarot using an expressionistic style. It is somewhat reminiscent of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, the German expressionist painter, as it shares the bold outlines set against an abstract background.
Here Joel and Danika Boyer have first created washes of watercolour or more likely gouache on a squared paper and on top of this they have drawn a figure using black paint and a large brush.
This oracle is complete with its 50 arcana.
Size : 75 mm x 125 mm
Explanatory booklet in French.
The backs and corners of the cards are marked with irregularities inherent in the manufacturing process of the period in which this game was produced.

🔹 Very rare 1969 vintage edition of the Ancien Tarot de Marseille by B.P. Grimaud (green box version)
🔹 The green box shows some signs of age and wear from storage (edge rubbing, slight fraying) — see photos
🔹 Cards are in very good condition, with vivid colors and almost no handling wear (like new)
🔹 Includes the original booklet in French
🔹 Highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs of Marseille-style tarot decks
🔹 Traditional Marseille structure with 78 cards and French titles
The Ancien Tarot de Marseille by B.P. Grimaud is one of the most influential decks of the 20th century. In 1930, Paul Marteau reinterpreted the 1760 Tarot de Marseille by Nicolas Conver, giving it vivid colors and slight design changes that set the standard for modern Marseille tarots.
By the late 1960s, Grimaud was still producing this deck in different print runs. The 1969 "Green Box" edition belongs to one of the earliest modern reprints after the Second World War. It reflects the growing interest in tarot during the esoteric revival of the 1960s and 70s, when cartomancy, mysticism, and New Age spirituality were becoming mainstream once again.
Today, the 1969 green-box edition is considered rare and collectible, because later Grimaud decks adopted new packaging designs and different printing styles. Owning this deck means holding a bridge between the classical 18th-century Marseille imagery and the modern tarot revival that spread internationally during the second half of the 20th century.

The Piatnik Wien Tarot, also known as the Tarot Pointner after its artist Rudolph Pointner, was first published in Austria in 1974 (Nr. 2825) by Piatnik.
This tarot was a remarkable discovery, standing out for its brightly colored illustrations and extraordinary textured patterns. The artwork combines partly historical and partly modern Tarot scenes, with major arcana rendered in vivid, childlike abstraction and minor arcana decorated with geometric backgrounds. The numbered minor cards feature the French-suited symbols (hearts, clubs, spades, diamonds), arranged in striking and unusual formations.
Highly rare and atypical, this tarot is now one of the most sought-after Piatnik releases among collectors of vintage European decks.
