Contains the full deck of Rider Waite cards taken from the drawings of Pamela Colman Smith, who, in 1910, worked with Arthur Edward Waite (leading member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, along with Aleister Crowley) to create this 'rectified' tarot pack. Le jeu de la Princesse is an historical reproduction of a rare Etteilla variant, published by Dusserre. Vintage deck, printed in around mid 1980s. This Etteilla variant based on the Princesse pattern was originally published in 1843. Faithfully reproduced from an original engravings, accurate in terms of color and size.

The cards were numbered consecutively from 1 to 78, following the system started by Etteilla to emphasize that the cards were pages of an ancient book. The cards have a central image surrounded by a large border with two lines of text at the bottom. The first is the card title the second line it’s divinatory meaning. At the top of the card is a reversed printed line with the reversed divinatory meaning.

Complete and an instruction booklet in French. Measures 3" by 5".
Gorgeous semi-glossy card stock, thick and sturdy, a joy to handle. Card backs are matte, with a reversible classical, have square corners and are very thick.

This is a very rare early U.S. edition of the legendary Thoth Tarot, designed by Aleister Crowley and painted by Lady Frieda Harris between 1938–1943 under Crowley’s guidance. Although created during WWII, the deck was only printed after both of their deaths, making every vintage edition a prized piece of tarot history.

This printing belongs to the sought-after “White Box A” series, distributed by Samuel Weiser (New York) and published by U.S. Games Systems, Inc. around the early 1980s. It features:

RARE Aleister Crowley Thoth Tarot Deck (1978)

The famous "Thoth Tarot" created by Aleister Crowley and illustrated by Lady Frieda Harris, is one of the best-selling tarots in the world. While Lady Harris finished work on the original paintings in the 1940s, the illustrations were not available in actual "card form" until the 1960s. Over the years, the Thoth Tarot became a legend, and the few copies of the early editions are scarce.

This is a scarce second edition of the large format cards, copyrighted and printed in 1978 . The deck was published by U. S. Games Systems and printed in Belgium. The box of this edition is known as "White Box C" by collectors.
