These cards present the most important masterpieces but also the most enigmatic of Renaissance painting. This game can be described as a synthesis of medieval encyclopedism. It is a microcosm containing 5 classes of figures which correspond to the social reality of the end of the Middle Ages.

Dating from 1470, these are the most important enigmatic engravings of the Italian Renaissance in the mid-15th century and not, as its name might lead you to believe, created by Tarocchi of Mantegna but by Michele Parrasio of Ferrara. Given the location and likely date of their manufacture, it is not inconceivable that Mantegna could have contributed to their design.

Structure of the Mantegna Tarot
The Mantegna Tarots deck consists of fifty copper engravings numbered in Roman and Arabic numerals, named via a North Italian (Venetian) dialect. It is divided into five series of ten blades classified in ascending order of importance, the themes of which are inspired by the social reality of the end of the
