This is a faithful 1978 reproduction of the famous Tarocchino deck originally engraved by Giuseppe Maria Mitelli (1634–1718), one of the most renowned Italian artists and engravers of the 17th century.
The Tarocchino Bolognese was a special form of Tarot used in Bologna, reduced to 62 cards by omitting the 2–5 pip cards in each suit. Mitelli created his satirical and allegorical version between 1663–1669 for the noble Bentivoglio family. Unlike standard tarots, the trumps in this deck do not have names or numbers, adding a mysterious and artistic quality.
🔹Creator: Giuseppe Maria Mitelli (1660s)
🔹Reprint Date: 1978
🔹Publisher: Grafica Gutenberg, Bergamo – Edizione Speciale per la BIASS
🔹Country: Italy
🔹Number of cards: 62
🔹Booklet: Included, in Italian
🪶 Collector’s Note
Mitelli’s Tarocchino is considered one of the most iconic Tarot artworks of the 17th century.
The 1978 BIASS edition is highly collectible and sought after for its authenticity and limited print run—an essential piece for historical tarot enthusiasts.
The deck is a piece of history, merging mythological, moral, and satirical themes, showcasing Mitelli’s unique wit and artistic mastery. The 1978 reprint by Grafica Gutenberg remains one of the rarest and most collectible reproductions of this iconic deck.
This rare and beautiful edition of I Tarocchini is a 1978 facsimile reprint of the historic tarot deck engraved by Giuseppe Maria Mitelli between 1663 and 1669. Produced by Grafica Gutenberg (Italy), the deck reproduces the celebrated Bolognese tarot tradition known as Tarocchino, characterized by its reduced structure of 62 cards.
This edition includes lightly watercolored cards, a booklet in Italian, and a hardcover slipcase-style box with Mitelli’s artwork on the front and back. Each card is a faithful reproduction of the 17th-century originals, showcasing allegorical figures from Renaissance iconography. The trumps follow a unique sequence derived from the Bolognese “Type A” order, with some surprising visual interpretations—such as “Love” portrayed by a blindfolded Cupid holding a flaming heart, or “Strength” as a woman embracing a column.
Mitelli’s deck is more than a historical curiosity; it is a window into the intellectual and artistic sensibilities of Baroque Bologna. This 1978 edition has become a collectible in its own right.

This one is a nice curiosity: a miniature Major Arcana tarot deck distributed by the Italian magazine Pratica, apparently as part of an astrology/cartomancy promotion ("Oroscopo Cartomanzia").
The artwork is based on the Tarot de Marseille, but redrawn in a simplified, modern style and printed in a tiny pocket format.
From the photos:
🔹 Complete 22 Major Arcana (0–21)
🔹 Original Pratica card backs
🔹 Very small pocket format
🔹 No box shown
🔹 Used condition with edge wear and handling marks
🔹 Cards remain complete and readable
🪶 Collector's Note
Italian magazine-issued tarot decks have developed a small but dedicated collector following. Produced as inexpensive promotional items rather than commercial tarot releases, many disappeared after use. Complete surviving examples such as this one provide an interesting glimpse into the popular cartomancy culture of Italy during the 1980s–1990s.

“The Tarot of Jane Austen” is good for problem solving and for meditation. The writings of Jane Austen add to the basic meanings of the Tarot cards. However, the main focus of this deck is self-actualization. Because of this, the deck is not suited for divination. Moreover, a deep knowledge of Austen’s novels is needed to understanding the cards. Therefore the deck is suited more for private use.

A highly unusual and beautifully surreal erotic deck produced in the 1970s by Angel Playing Cards Co., Japan. Known among collectors as “Shapely”, this set features a series of wonderfully strange, dreamlike illustrations: nude Kings, Queens, and Jokers whose bodies intertwine with flowers, butterflies, fruits, vines, horses, and fantastical hybrid forms.
The artwork is uncredited, but unmistakably bold — a fusion of sensuality, fantasy, and delicate pointillism. Each court card is a miniature artwork, blending eroticism with mythic symbolism. The four aces also feature unique illustrations, making the deck stand out from all standard productions of the era.
