🪶 Collector's Note

Uncut playing card sheets were never intended for public sale and were normally used as production proofs, printer's references, or factory samples. Because most were cut during manufacturing, surviving examples are considerably rarer than the decks themselves.

This striking Yves Saint Laurent sheet captures the intersection of luxury fashion and traditional French card-making. Produced by Grimaud during the golden age of designer-branded collectibles, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the printing process while standing as a decorative artwork in its own right.

Artistic deck of cards made by Grimaud, featuring the brilliant original designs of American artist Fred Nall Hollis, who goes by the single name “Nall.” The pips and center designs of the Aces are original designs and non-standard, although the suit symbols in the corners of the pip cards are standard. The courts are non-standard. 
The cards are accompanied by a folded paper insert in French with a biography of Nall.

The deck has 52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus an extra card introducing the deck, plus the paper insert noted.
