The Tarot Rhenan is a faithful photographic reproduction of an early tarot deck created by Ignaz Krebs in Freiburg (Germany) before 1800. This edition, published by Piatnik Vienna in 1984, preserves all the authentic imperfections of the original woodcut plates: broken lines, uneven stenciling, pale pigments, and overlapping colors typical of 18th-century craftsmanship.

A true historical facsimile, it offers the raw and unaltered aesthetic of early Tarot de Marseille traditions. Traditional French titles appear on all trumps and court cards, and the deck’s coloring reflects the primary tones characteristic of the Rhône–Rhineland tarot lineage.
