Originally designed in Florence at the end of the 15th century, this rare deck differs from the classic tarot structure, containing 97 cards instead of the traditional 78.

The Minchiate is composed of 41 Major Arcana, which include the 12 zodiac signs, the 4 elements, the 3 theological virtues (Faith, Hope, Charity), and Prudence, along with the traditional arcana (though the first six cards from Bateleur to Lover are replaced by Popes).
Because the Minchiate was not prohibited by the clergy (unlike classic tarot), it survived as both a game and an esoteric tool, carrying a unique mystery about its possible occult uses.

Unlike many decks of its era that followed the classic Tarot de Marseille or Rider-Waite pattern, this edition took a bold artistic direction:

The Oswald Wirth Tarot occupies a special place in tarot history because it bridges the gap between the traditional Tarot of Marseille and the French occult revival of the late nineteenth century.

Wirth collaborated with influential occult circles and drew inspiration from the teachings of Stanislas de Guaita, one of the leading figures of French esotericism. His deck transformed the tarot into a symbolic system intended not only for divination but also for philosophical and spiritual study.

The 1982 U.S. Games edition is particularly desirable because it represents one of the earliest American publications authorized by Wirth's successors. At a time when historical tarot decks were still largely unknown outside Europe, this edition introduced English-speaking collectors to one of the most respected decks in occult literature.

Today, early U.S. Games examples—especially factory-sealed copies—have become increasingly difficult to locate. Their historical importance and limited availability continue to make them highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

Published by Il Meneghello in 1987, Tarocco dell'Orror occupies a unique place in tarot history as one of the very first decks to reinterpret the traditional tarot through the lens of horror cinema and comic-book illustration. Created by Italian artist Gianni Maiotti for publisher Osvaldo Menegazzi, this unusual deck appeared during a period when contemporary artists were beginning to challenge the visual conventions of tarot.

Unlike the Gothic and occult decks that would become popular during the 1990s, Maiotti chose satire rather than realism. His illustrations draw heavily from classic B-movies, Italian comic art, pulp magazines, and the exaggerated visual language of horror cartoons. Skeletons, monsters, vampires, witches, and mad scientists replace traditional archetypes while preserving the symbolic structure of the tarot.

Exceptional Jeu de la Princesse Tarot, a fascinating historical reproduction published by Éditions Dusserre, Paris, in the mid-1980s, faithfully recreated from the rare 1843 edition attributed to Johannès Trismégiste.

This unusual tarot belongs to the Etteilla tradition, one of the earliest systems specifically designed for cartomancy rather than game play. Inspired by ancient Egypt and 19th-century occultism, the deck presents a completely different interpretation of the tarot.

Unlike traditional tarot decks, this system numbers cards from 1 to 78 and includes printed divinatory meanings directly on each card, reflecting one of the earliest structured tarot reading methods.

Highly sought after by enthusiasts of historical cartomancy, this deck represents one of the earliest modern forms of tarot divination.

The Tarokado is the result of four years of artistic, poetic and intuitive exploration of the Tarot. Cadot reimagines the traditional system as a dreamlike labyrinth in which every card becomes a doorway into the imagination.
