This is a faithful reproduction of the first deck of Spanish playing cards created by Heraclio Fournier in Vitoria, Spain, 1868. The original edition won a prize at the prestigious Paris Exposition of 1868, establishing Fournier’s reputation as one of the greatest European playing card makers.
This reproduction was produced by Naipes Fournier in Vitoria during the 1980s–1990s, as part of their historical commemorative series “Siglo XIX”.
