This is a faithful 1978 reproduction of the famous Tarocchino deck originally engraved by Giuseppe Maria Mitelli (1634–1718), one of the most renowned Italian artists and engravers of the 17th century.

The Tarocchino Bolognese was a special form of Tarot used in Bologna, reduced to 62 cards by omitting the 2–5 pip cards in each suit. Mitelli created his satirical and allegorical version between 1663–1669 for the noble Bentivoglio family. Unlike standard tarots, the trumps in this deck do not have names or numbers, adding a mysterious and artistic quality.

The deck is a piece of history, merging mythological, moral, and satirical themes, showcasing Mitelli’s unique wit and artistic mastery. The 1978 reprint by Grafica Gutenberg remains one of the rarest and most collectible reproductions of this iconic deck.
