This rare reproduction deck is a faithful recreation of a 15th-century French playing card set originally made in 1493 by master cardmaker Jehan Personne in Lyon, France.
The historic sheet used as reference is preserved in the Public Library of Dijon, allowing Dusserre and the master printers Boechat Frères to revive this precious fragment of French heritage.

Each card depicts medieval courtly figures — kings, queens, and valets such as La Belle Hélène, Mélusine, Vénus, and Jeanne d’Arc la Pucelle — drawn in a striking Gothic style and colored with delicate tints typical of late-medieval engraving.

A remarkable collector’s item for lovers of historical playing cards, French iconography, and Renaissance printing art.
