Authentic second-generation Le Tarot d'Argolance, created by French artist Pierrick Pinot and handcrafted in France in 1984.
Inspired by the medieval symbolism of Oswald Wirth, this remarkable tarot is far more than a reinterpretation of a classic deck. Pinot developed an entirely personal artistic vision, combining traditional tarot imagery with his own symbolic language and artisanal craftsmanship.

Published in a strictly limited edition of approximately 999 numbered copies, each deck was individually signed and numbered by the artist. This example is No. 327, as shown on the original numbered authentication card.
Housed in its original handcrafted wooden presentation box, this second-generation edition has become particularly desirable since the original wooden cases are no longer produced.

🪶 Collector's Note

The unusual name Argolance evolved from Pinot's original title Argoland, a poetic fusion inspired by both the legendary voyage of the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece and the ancient secret language known as argot, once associated with wanderers, beggars, and thieves.

For Pierrick Pinot, tarot represented both:

• a symbolic vessel capable of carrying the seeker toward inner illumination;
• and a hidden language whose mysteries reveal themselves only through sincere study and practice.

The project began after Pinot discovered Oswald Wirth's "Tarot des Imagiers du Moyen Âge" in 1978. What started as a personal redraw of Wirth's deck gradually evolved into one of the most distinctive handcrafted French tarot editions of the twentieth century.
