Tarot de la Révolution Française – Vintage Héron Deck (1989)

This historically themed Tarot de la Révolution, published in 1989 by Héron, is a unique artistic interpretation of the French Revolution. Each Major Arcana is paired with a key figure, event, or revolutionary symbol: the Arrest of Lavoisier (10), the Guillotine (13), the Death of Marat (18), and Bonaparte (21), among many others.

The four suits are represented by powerful emblems of the era — Sacred Heart of the Chouans, Tricolour Flag, Phrygian Cap, and Royal Fleur-de-Lys — creating a deck rooted in both symbolism and French historical identity.
Illustrated by Hélène Bouboulis using pen drawings colored with ink and watercolor, this deck blends simplicity, artistic charm, and cultural significance.
