In 1969, Grimaud made 2 decks of cards it called, “Les Cris de Paris,” based upon an early deck from the period c.1830-1840.
2 decks of:
52 suited cards, plus 2 Jokers, plus 1 extra card.
size: 88mm x 63mm
Box is showing some signs of wear due to storage as pictured.
Exceptional, complete decks of cards, dedicated to small Parisian trades. It includes a rule of the game printed on a folded sheet and 50 cards; 25 engraved and colored showing Parisian merchants, 1 joker called "carte blanche" and 24 cards offering legends in verse corresponding to the different trades. One card represents The Commissioner, a sort of master of the game.
The other 24 represent sellers of umbrellas, tides, salads, bouquets...
