c. 1890 - Léon SAUSSINE - New Game of The Fables of La Fontaine
Description
Description
Beautiful old lotto game, and complete! French work, by Léon Saussine in Paris
This is an “informative, interesting, easy to play” lotto game. A challenge, all the same, because a token can lead to gain or loss, and above all, the future winner of the jackpot must, to obtain it, recite one of the fables from his box.
Lid decorated with a chromo-lithograph by Ludovic, representing the fabulist, seated at his table, surrounded by his animals.
The interior reveals 9 boxes, the upper part of which reveals the illustration of two fables, and the lower part, the titles of the fables preceded by a number (8 per box).
The interior also contains two small bags containing 72 small boxes (8 fables x 9 boxes), on which the morals of the numbered fables are written. The other bag contains tokens
Dimensions: 37.5cm x 29cm x 4cm H
