OUT OF PRINT – Rare Vintage Sealed Deck
Unlike the traditional 78-card tarot, The Prager Tarot features a 54-card structure inspired by Chaldean astrology and Czechoslovakian folklore.
Published in Switzerland by AGMüller and distributed by U.S. Games Systems, this intriguing hybrid combines the iconography of tarot with the shorter form of European tarock decks from the 18th and 19th centuries.
🔹 22 Major Arcana – traditional tarot symbolism
🔹 32 Minor Arcana – 4 suits (Swords, Batons, Cups, Coins) with 4 courts each (King, Queen, Knight, Page) plus the 4, 3, 2, and Ace
🔹 2 blank cards
📖 Includes a 31-page instruction booklet by Stuart R. Kaplan (founder of U.S. Games Systems).
🔹 Publisher: AGMüller & Cie, Switzerland
🔹 Distributor: U.S. Games Systems, Inc., USA
🔹 Year: 1980
🔹 Cards: 54 + 2 blanks, sealed
🔹 Card size: approx. 2¾ × 3⅞ in. (7 × 10 cm)
🔹 Condition: Brand new – factory sealed. Box in good vintage condition with light shelf wear (see photos).
🪶 Collector’s Note
A fascinating bridge between tarot and historic tarock games, the Prager Tarot is one of the most unusual decks published by AGMüller and U.S. Games. Its blend of Eastern astrology and Central European myth makes it a remarkable artifact of 1980s esoteric publishing. Sealed copies are scarce and highly sought after by collectors.
