This is a vintage Italian fortune-telling (cartomancy) deck, originally produced by Viassone of Turin in 1968 and later continued by Masenghini of Bergamo after Viassone ceased operations around 1980.
The deck consists of 52 different illustrated cards, each depicting a narrative scene representing the classic themes of traditional cartomancy: love, fortune, illness, sorrow, success, deception, victory, and more. Card values appear in the upper left corner, with indices in Italian, and each card bears a descriptive Italian title at the bottom.
In this later edition, Masenghini’s name appears on the Ace of Hearts, replacing the original Viassone imprint.
This example corresponds to the second production version, issued in the 1980s, (NOT THE DelNegro version from 2000s) and represents a direct continuation of the original Viassone design under Masenghini’s publishing.
