Jung: dreams are messages
The position of Freud's most famous pupil, the Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung, is quite different. This researcher attentive to the symbols that we drag behind us in this obscure warehouse that is the unconscious considers them not only as baggage, but also as a heritage left by those who preceded us (the people, the race) and who would have been transmitted genetically just like the height or the color of the hair.
Jung recovers the thought of the Ancients and sees in the symbols populating our dreams precious messages, advice, warnings from our unconscious, namely the most secret and most receptive part of ourselves, capable of communicating without words with other beings. .
Origin of dreams
It has long been believed that dreams are made in the outer area of the brain, called the cortex. On the contrary, it seems that the person responsible for the dream scene is the trunk of the brain, this somewhat primitive area that man shares with many animal species, which are also capable of dreaming.
